Originally established as Healey Investments, Digga Excavations has been forged on the grit and determination of its Directors, Simon and Jenni Healey with the support of their highly competent staff. Simon, who was a Carpenter by trade, could see an opportunity to form a motivated company that had the capacity to produce flexibility within its services.
In 1994 the company began its foray into contract works, undertaking various construction projects throughout the state. Most notably the construction of the Pyengana Dairy Company Cheese Factory and underground produce storage facilities, the maintenance activities at the Bridgestone Australia Warehouse in Hobart Tasmania, and the Crown Casino Sydney fit out.
In 2004 the scope of work for the business expanded further to more civil construction oriented projects and maintenance works within the power industry. Throughout the preceding years from 2005-2006 the company experienced growth and diversification of services through the completion of various major state projects. These included the installation of complex constructions such as the rock anchor, mass footings and foundation and subsidence works for the Bell Bay to Alinta Transmission Line and Sheffield to Burnie Transmission lines..
Between 2008 and 2015 Digga Excavations experienced unprecedented growth leading to the further development of its operational capabilities. This period of growth has included the amalgamation of demolition, roadworks and rail maintenance into their portfolio of services, and expansion to major complex civil construction.
Over the past 10 years, Digga Excavations has evolved out of the turbulent Tasmanian economy undergoing a full metamorphosis in 2008 to become the business it is today.
